Established in 1978, CSR has developed an assortment of tools and techniques so that we serve as the go-to problem-solver for our clients.  As with anything else in this world, with time, we have evolved. 1978

  • CSR opens for business

1981

  • National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) contract for epidemiologic research is awarded to CSR

1982

  •  CSR begins child development practice with evaluation of Head Start

1983

  •  CSR becomes a 100% employee-owned firm

1987

  • CSR adds NIAAA National Alcohol Education Project (NAEP) alcohol research education project to portfolio

1993

  • White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) awards analytic support contract to CSR

1996

  • National Institute of Justice, Department of Justice (DOJ), awards Research and Evaluation Technical Assistance contract to CSR

2000

  • CSR begins contract for Health Resources and Services Administration

2005

  •  CSR begins support for the Department of Homeland Security
  • CSR begins evaluation support for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, DOJ
  • National Cancer Institute awards evaluation contracts to CSR

2006

  • CSR supports Econometric Analysis of Coca Farmer Data for ONDCP

2007

  • CSR begins supporting performance data collection for Bureau of Justice Assistance, DOJ
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Department of Health and Human Services, selects CSR as one of its IDIQ contractors

2009 

  • CSR wins several e-learning awards for web-based course created for the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), including a First Place Gold Screen Award from the National Association of Government Communicators, both Gold and Platinum Hermes Awards from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, and two bronze Horizon Interactive Awards

2010

  • CSR wins National Institute of Justice Research, Evaluation & Technical Assistance (RETA) contract again (after formerly having contract for 11 years)

2011

  • John Foster-Bey becomes president of CSR upon retirement of founder Sherrie Aitken
  • NIAAA selects CSR to continue supporting National Alcohol Education Program (NAEP) for the 23rd year

2013 

  • CSR begins its 31st year as NIAAA’s Alcohol Epidemiologic Data System (AEDS) contractor
  • CSR wins contract under Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Understanding of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

2014

  • CSR moves to new offices at CenturyLink Building at Ballston Metro in Arlington, VA

2015

  • CSR wins Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Performance Measurement Tool Bridge of Service contract
  • CSR wins National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), Science Writing, Editing and Related Communication Support Services contract

2016

  • Cynthia Marsden becomes President and Chief Executive Officer
  •  CSR wins National Institute of Justice Research, Evaluation & Technical Assistance (RETA) contract again.
  • CSR wins the National Commission on Forensic Science (NCFS) support services contract
