The challenge: CSR prepares a range of technical reports, from simple briefing books to complex reports of original research. A chief challenge when developing these documents is to present the information in a way that is useful to the reader. We don't want the text to be so esoteric that the report simply “sits on a shelf” in someone’s office.
CSR’s approach: Presenting complex research results in a format that is easy to read and understand is CSR’s specialty. In drafting reports, our analysts and editorial staff work together to ensure that the information provided is accurate and based on the best available research. We present information using proven text “clues,” such as bullets, highlighting, and textboxes, which help readers to see quickly the most salient findings. The final product is a careful merging of current research findings and actual hands-on advice—resulting in a practical and useful publication.
